Exhibition Detail
Tiger Strikes Asteroid New York is pleased to present Who Sells Color, a solo exhibition featuring new work by Sun You, alongside material accumulation(s) / practice time, a series of performances by Ella Dawn W-S, curated by Sunmi Yong.

material accumulation(s)/practice time, 2024
In conjunction with the wall sculptures of Sun You, Ella Dawn W-S will engage with the inverse center space of the gallery, the open floor, considering the smallness of a performative gesture as well as the legibility of its act within a public space, or a practice space, or a performance space.

Over the span of five weeks, Dawn W-S will engage with the gallery as a rehearsal room, revealing/developing pieces of her choreographic score one at a time, accumulating physical and movement material along the way. By placing her body in dialogue with You’s works, she will offer a continual gesture towards transformation, both concrete and obscure, through body-based practices. Collaborators will be invited to observe or engage in an ongoing way.
